Stewart, Patricia
Patricia Stewart
Patricia Stewart is an artist based in Harpley near King's Lynn. She worked in collaboration with Sue Maufe on the pilot visits in the Downham Market area at Hilgay, Wormegay, Runcton Holme, Wimbotsham, and Clackclose. Patricia's role was to provide practical activities in the afternoons and on second days. She encouraged pupils to reflect on the traditions and history of the fens, focussing especially on marsh reeds and the ways these could be made into 'spirit houses.' She also showed them how to make pigment using eggs and crushed stone, which the pupils could then apply using finger dabbing on sticks. Her emphasis was on being resourceful.
