Thompson was visited on two separate occasions, to work with two different classes and two different teachers. The programme was similar on both days, working from Papua New Guinean objects to make connections with local histories and traditions. On both days, the culmination was printmaking, which resulted in extraordinary classroom displays, similar to street bunting. The culture of the countryside project at Thompson built from the general theme of 'the Victorians'. This produced the idea of bunting, which the artist related to her experience of poles in Papua New Guinea where messages and designs are attached that may be to do with local beliefs or environmental themes. The children were asked to think carefully about their own locality, so as to develop imagery that could be printed on 'flags'.School website: http://www.thompson.norfolk.sch.uk/
