Yoxford primary school was visited in the summer, and children were introduced to a range of stimulating artefacts from Papua New Guinea. From these they learnt about the flora and fauna of Melanesian environments, including finding out about the extraordinary bower bird. In the afternoon the children made dens in the school grounds, applying resourcefulness and making skills, as well as having fun. Younger children made 'treasures', like the bower bird, and placed these carefully in the dens.
