Children were introduced to a range of objects from the Papua New Guinean collection

The children were introduced to a range of objects from the Papua New Guinean collection, and connections were made between this and carvings that could be discovered in the local church. In the afternoon, the artist led a workshop of printmaking, picking up and developing pattern observed in the church carvings, as well as adding their own ideas and memories.
Our work in the Norfolk Broads was initiated by a partnership invitation by the campaign organisation, The Three Rivers Way. They introduced us to primary schools in their area, and as a result Ludham invited us for a one day workshop in Autumn 2008. The theme for Ludham was pattern, which was looked for in the museum objects as well as discovered locally in St Catherine's Church. The pattern theme allowed converations to develop about what it was like to live in the area around Ludham and what children valued about the countryside.
