A visual document of the obsession surfers share with the weather including stories, wave predictions, wave buoys readings, weather patterns, sea currents, low/high pressure maps, oceanography and tide charts...when all the elements come together to make surf perfection: the tide, wind turning to a gentle off shore, a stillness in the water with a clean set coming in. The pursuit of waves is embedded in complicated weather patterns, connecting us to the rituals of the planet. The results, if noticed by people who don't surf, often seem unremarkable. A site specific sculpture/installation in the East Runton 'pavilion' over-looking the surf.
The re-telling of heroic surf stories in the pub with performance.
Project led by artist Mark Haywood.
