"Stories and songs" a short film about the project
The Culture of the Countryside is a three year Heritage Lottery funded project based at the Sainsbury Centre, Norwich. We have been taking world art objects in to schools and communities to use as a starting point for creative responses. Responses which consider our own regional countryside culture and heritage from different points of view by making comparisons between distant places and our own. World art objects include artefacts from Papua New Guinea, Mexico, North Australia, or sometimes relate to exhibitions at the Sainsbury Centre.
